Savanna is a technician and theater artist based in the West Coast. She has 7 years of live mixing experience with a myriad of genres including live orchestras and bands, jazz concerts, dance shows, musical theater, and plays. They started mixing in high school and at community theaters. She learned her craft in a theater that hosted more than 15 productions a year. In that environment, they learned that being prepared and organized are critical building blocks for a theater artist. This technical background is ever-present and critically informs my work sound design. ​

She am inspired by theater that aims to serve the communities in which it is presented. Anna Deavere Smith’s Twilight, Los Angeles is a beacon of this kind of work. For her, it is a more intimate form of theater that calls attention to multiple perspectives and shines lights on a more objective form of truth. This objective truth is a powerful ingredient she seek to bring to all of my work; after all theater that relies heavily on engaged audiences is what drives this art form forward. It demands new interpretations and lives as dynamic pieces of work rather than remaining static in time.
